Energy Equals Happiness
58Throughout my continuing quest for true (not man made) happiness, I've come across some incredibly powerful principles. When I turned a very interested eye towards self development, I began to not only change my mind but I have become a health fanatic! Listen, your body equals your mind, and your mind equals your body. This isn't just some myth, this is actual science. Your nervous system, comprises neurons that fire off in more places than just your brain. The cells in your body are actually "thinking cells," in that they have functions, they know what to do, they act, and they work to keep you safe.
We, all of us, live in a time where food really tastes good, but is doing horrible things to our bodies. 1 in 3 die of cancer, a similar percentage with heart disease, people are extremely obese in their 30's, dying in their 40's while some people are living to be 100. What is the difference? A lot of people will tell you things like luck, genetics and things like that but if traced back to find the actual root of a healthy life, it's little things that person did, both with their minds in terms of the way they thought, as well as the food they ate. If you've never seen any documentaries about what fast food does to you, I suggest watching something like Super Size Me!
I never realized the effect food really had on my body until I learned some pretty interesting things. I learned about the Acid Alkaline balance in your body and how a lot of foods produce acid within our bodies. Most of the foods we eat as a society today, in America at least, are so acidic and do extremely horrible things to the body, it's amazing people still eat it! You go to the grocery store and there is a 10 by 5 little area on a shelf called "healthy living," while the rest of the store is filled with things that will literally kill you. Anyhow, what I learned is that a balance is needed and in order to get that balance, you need to stay away from certain foods and consume more of others. This article is about the link between feeling good, your level of energy in your body and your happiness and well being.
What I've found is that by eating foods high in alkaline on a consistent basis, such as broccoli, avocado's, lettuce and other GREEN VEGETABLES, your body actually gets more of what it needs to number 1, fight off sickness and keep you performing at your max, and 2, create massive amounts of natural energy. I eat broccoli for breakfast normally, and trust me after a while, you'll love it. I eat bananas, 2 or so throughout the day. Normally a Salad for lunch and another salad with dinner, usually mixed with broccoli, and other fresh greens. I snack on carrots, I drink lemon juice mixed with spring water and my snacks are other fruits and vegetables. Now, let me tell you, when I first changed what I was eating, my body started to change rapidly. I started to actually wake up feeling great! Throughout my day, I didn't have that feeling of being drained that most of us feel. I was so vibrant and because of the way I felt, it added directly to my happiness. You see, happiness is something you create within your mind as a result of the way you represent life situations to yourself. The way in which you communicate with yourself in your head determines pretty much everything in your life. I know most people believe it's the other way around, and that's why most people aren't happy.
Because I study psychology, NLP, human effectiveness, techniques, methods, strategies, principles and ideas for human change, and much more in the area of human potential, I have done an extensive amount of study, and application of learned ideas into my life, of happiness. What I've found, in its most fundamental component, is that the level of energy you have in your body, your level of vitality, how you feel has a major role on your mood. You can change your body, jolt it in a radical way to send positive signals through your nervous system to get you in a great state. This works every time. You can focus on the things that bring you joy and cultivate habits of doing so, which will also direct your state and allow you to gain and maintain a consistent level of happiness but when you add the combination of directing your own physiology as well as your own brain consciously, to eating high alkaline foods, getting the right amount of energy and exercising daily, your happiness is through the roof. Remember, happiness, good health, success, achievement, and all of the things we truly want as human beings, are all decisions. Make the decision today, resolve to eat more healthy today, resolve to work towards happiness and make the decision that your life is up to you!
